 From the Principal's Desk-Summer/ Return 2016

Welcome back to the 2016-2017 school year!  We hope that summer vacation provided all with rest, relaxation, adventure, and time to rejuvenate.  Our mission at Adelante continues to be one that helps each student be academically and socially, emotionally successful.  We want to let all of our parents know that we will do everything we can to ensure that your student’s time with us is a positive educational experience.  Should you ever have a question or concern, please do not hesitate to contact me or our Assistant Principal, Sybil Healy.

This school year we have a NEW bell schedule.  Each class will be 45 minutes long now.  The lunch period is now 34 minutes, shorter than in previous years.  The Monday minimum day schedule will stay the same.

We lool forward to increased invovlement with Destiny Community Center, providing more frequent events for our students, staff, and parents.  Additionally, we look to provide a few new elective student opportunities for students by working closely with Indepence High School: guitar, ceramics, and multiple levels of art.  Adelante, Independence, and Roseville Adult School will serve as co-hosts on August 22nd for the Open House Mixer.  Sierra College, Destiny Community Center, and RPal are among the few organizations that will be presenting during the Open House.  Come join us for awards, hot dogs, drinks and prizes.  Please put it on your calendar now and be sure to attend!

With a new year arrives new opportunities for students and parent involvement in monthly Site Council meetings. The council includes parents, students, and staff, and is responsible for making recommendations for the Single School Plan for Student Achievement.  They meet regularly and provide feedback regarding budget decisions, analyze assessment results, assess progress, and consider interventions for student success.  Council members also encourage innovative ideas that promote a powerful learning atmosphere.  Meetings are 5:30-6:30 p.m.on the 1st Wednesday of each month.

We wish everyone a productive first quarter.  Please let us know what we can do to be of help to you or your student.
